Activities that are novel, social, and enjoyable are more valuable than repetitive puzzle apps.
Reasonable choices
- Learning something new with another person
- Music, art, and hands-on hobbies
- Reading and discussion groups
- Volunteering while able
- Structured programming at adult day centers
Set expectations
- Improvement usually applies to the practiced task only
- Frustration is a sign to change the activity
- Purpose and enjoyment matter more than difficulty
